Garden Club

On the last day of January with temperatures in the single digits our middle school gardeners weren’t thinking about the cold or the possibility of a Friday snow storm that could bring us a snow day.  They were thinking about plants and how to produce more plants without planting a single seed.  They learned what the term propagation means, the process of reproducing plants from a single parent plant, and different plant propagation techniques.  They took cuttings from spider plants, aloe plants and African violets.  If all goes well they will  have lots of new plants to sell in the spring to help green up our classrooms and homes.
