December Student of the Month

December Rotary Club Student of the Month

Landon Portu - Grade 7

Landon was unanimously selected to be the Rotary Student of the Month. Landon has all of the great traits that a top student should have - excellent work habits, politeness, neatness and accuracy. But Landon’s traits go to an even higher level. His sincerity to teachers and his peers about caring and concern are so genuine. When he asks if you are having a good day, he really wants to know. And he listens to what you say and displays concerns.

Landon’s work habits are superb. He meets all deadlines and willingly corrects any and all errors. He questions when his understanding is not clear.  He takes pride in doing good work.

Landon is a member of the Coxsackie-Athens Middle School’s National Junior Honor Society. In his application, he wrote the following: “A quality of mine is kind-heartedness. I think no matter the situation, you should be kind even if it's the hardest thing to do.I take kindness to a new level because it hurts me when people are sad, stressed, or upset. That is why I do all I can to be kind.”

Landon is a unique and very special person and we are proud to have him be the Rotary Student of the Month.
