Some of Mrs. Field’s health classes recently had the opportunity to welcome Christina Bourguignon, Licensed Mental Health Counselor and owner of Empower Mental Health Counseling, PLLC, for an informative and engaging discussion about mental health.

As a mental health professional and parent in our school community, Mrs. Bourguignon was able to bring her professional expertise directly into her son’s health classes. She spoke with students about intervention, support services, and resources available to individuals experiencing mental health challenges, while also answering students’ specific questions and helping connect classroom learning to real-world experiences.

Mrs. Bourguignon specializes in anger management, parent training and education, and perinatal mental health. Her visit gave students the opportunity to learn from a local mental health professional while gaining a better understanding of when, where, and how individuals can seek support.

We are grateful to Mrs. Bourguignon for sharing her time, knowledge, and expertise with our students—and for being willing to give back to the school community as both a professional and a parent!

Incoming Grade 5 students and families are invited to visit the Middle School on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. The school will be open from 8:00 - 3:00 PM for self- guided tours. There will also be guided tours led by Grade 5/6 Counselor Sharon Schultz at 9 AM, 11 AM, 1 PM and 2 PM. Families are welcome to come see the building, locate classrooms and practice opening lockers. Student schedules and locker assignments will be available on tour day. Please contact the counseling office at 518 731-1855 with any questions! We are excited about the upcoming school year!

This past weekend, our National Junior Honor Society took an unforgettable overnight trip to Washington, D.C.!🇺🇸 Students explored iconic landmarks like the Lincoln Memorial, the U.S. Capitol, and the Smithsonian museums. 🏛️ The experience brought American history to life and gave members a chance to bond, reflect, and grow as young leaders. It was a meaningful journey that celebrated the values of scholarship, citizenship, and service. A heartfelt thank you goes out to our amazing chaperones, whose support, guidance, and enthusiasm helped make this trip safe, memorable, and fun!

Congratulations to Jackson Bliss, our 6th Grade Rotary Student of the month! Jackson gives his best in everything he does. He’s hardworking, curious, and always ready for a challenge. From reading and math to science and social studies, Jackson stands out for his thoughtful questions, strong work ethic, and leadership. As a Baritone Saxophone player, he earned a spot in the All County Band and leads with dedication and enthusiasm. Jackson’s kindness, responsibility, and positive attitude make him a role model and a joy to have in class. Great job, Jackson!

🚌🎨 C-A hits the big Apple! 🗽🖼️ Last week, Ms. Seekamp, our sixth-grade students, and some awesome parents took a memorable trip to New York City to visit The Metropolitan Museum of Art! Students explored world-renowned exhibits, experienced art from across the globe, and got inspired by the rich history and creativity on display. It was a fantastic day full of learning, culture, and fun!

Agriculture at CA Update! Middle school students finished their semester by learning about winter sowing seeds using recycled materials High School Agricultural Animal Production students did a dairy sensory analysis where they learned about different types of milk, pasteurization, and homogenization Mr. Hudson and Ms. Misuraca's classes teamed up to learn about maple identification and production. Special thanks to Jourdin's Maple Syrup for donating maple equipment and teaching our students how to properly tap a tree!

The Coxsackie-Athens Drama Club will be presenting “Into The Woods” music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, book by James Lapine. The play will take place in the High School auditorium on Friday, March 11th at 7 pm and on Saturday, March 12th at 7 pm. Admission for adults is $12.00 and for students $6.00.
