EJA Bike Rodeo

Dear 3rd & 4th Grade Families,

In conjunction with the Athens Police Department, we are pleased to announce that the Edward J. Arthur Elementary School will be hosting a Third and Fourth Grade Bike Rodeo!   The Bike Rodeo will allow students to review bicycle safety.  Students will also be given the opportunity to demonstrate mastery of those concepts during the Bicycle Skills and Safety Test. During this event, students are invited to bring their bike and helmet to school and complete several riding test stations. One of the stations will be a safety inspection performed on their bike by the Athens Police Department.

This event will be held on Monday, June 12th with a rain date of Tuesday, June 13th.  All students are encouraged to participate; however students must be able to supply their own two-wheel bicycle and helmet to do so. (Students who are unable to meet this requirement will complete other activities during the skills test).  Bicycles and helmets can be brought to school on the morning of June 12th from 8:10-8:55 am or the evening of June 9th from 3:45-4:15 pm at the main entrance to school.  Bikes will need to be picked up at the end of the day on Monday, June 12th.
