We are pleased to announce that our free summer classes for kids ages 6 through 12 is open for registration as of Wednesday, April 27, 2022. The first folks to sign up will be entered into a raffle for free art supplies.
May 7: 10-11am We have a Meet-the-author Book Event with LaTonya Yvette
Athens Cultural Center and DR Evarts Library present a celebration of The Hair Book, a bold, graphic picture book celebrating all types of hair. No matter what you look like, you are beautiful, valued, and welcome everywhere. There will be a reading, a craft project to partake in and refreshments provided by The Athens Rooster. The event is FREE and some books will be available to be purchased and signed (!)
May 11: 6-8pm Family Drum Circle with Olympia Avignone
Engage in a rhythmic tradition that brings people together. Rhythms will be facilitated in the circle, as we co-create the musical experience. Join us in this rhythmic exploration, conversation and synchronization of hearts through rhythm. All levels and ages welcome. No prior experience necessary. The event is FREE for kids, $15 for adults, $10 for seniors
