Water Testing Update
OCTOBER 2020, UPDATE
EJ Elementary Retest - December
SEPTEMBER 30TH, 2016 UPDATE
We recived the results of the second round of testing that took place the week the September 7th.
Letter from Mr. Squier on re-testing results
A summary of results:
M.S. room 137: lab sink--tested below the 15 ppb threshold
M.S. room 133: lab sink--tested below the 15 ppb threshold
HS library: office sink--not tested
HS Home Ec: sink--not tested
H.S. room 175: lab sink 1--tested below the 15 ppb threshold
H.S. room 175: lab sink 3--tested below the 15 ppb threshold
H.S. room 173: lab sink 1--tested below the 15 ppb threshold
H.S. room 173: lab sink 3--tested ABOVE the 15 ppb threshold
H.S. room 171: lab sink 1--tested ABOVE the 15 ppb threshold
For the five sources tested below the threshold.
We will continue to label them as non-drinkable.
For the two sources that continued to show levels that exceeded the state threshold.
One source exceeded the 15 ppb on the first draw test,
The other source had elevated levels on the flush sample.
We will continue to label them as non-drinkable
We are now repairing the two sources that continued to show elevated levels of lead to ensure hot water is not mixing with cold water at the faucet.
For the two sources not tested, they are shut off.
We are continuing to follow the guidelines found in the Environmental Protection Agency’s “3Ts” document regarding clean water in schools.
Copies of all 135 original reports as well as the new reports can be found on our website under the quick link “Water.”

Letter from Mr. Squier regarding water testing
There were no issues reported at Coxsackie Elementary or Edward J. Arthur Elementary Schools, however, there were 2 locations at the middle school and 7 locations at the high school exceeding the legally required maximum level for lead of 15 parts per billion. Those nine locations are:
M.S. room 137: lab sink
M.S. room 133: lab sink
HS library: office sink
HS Home Ec: sink
H.S. room 175: lab sink 1
H.S. room 175: lab sink 3
H.S. room 173: lab sink 1
H.S. room 173: lab sink 3
H.S. room 171: lab sink 1
Drinking fountains and bottle fills at all schools were tested, and they were below the legally required maximum level of 15 parts per billion.
The continued safety of our students and staff is vitally important to us. We will keep you updated as this process continues.
