social studies annimation

Our theme for the month at the Middle School for March was Conflict Resolution.  Students in Ms. Nestlen’s social studies classes were asked to create a script that described a conflict and attempted to resolve it by the end of the story.  In Mr.Pray's English classes, the students were learning about literary conflict, so the students also reviewed types of conflict, elements of plot, etc. in social studies.  They  studied a section of a film script so the students would be able to write a script in the proper format that could be turned into animation. Students could choose from a few relevant historical characters such as; Colonial and British soldiers, Ben Franklin, George Washington, Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson to work through an historical conflict. If they chose a general conflict, they could use other characters in the animation.

Students then created their scripts and recorded them. The recordings were then animated.
