Friday, five of our students; Abby O’Dell, Jacob Allen, Luke Barnhart and Ryan Gunderson and Kate McManus, interested in pursuing a career in education and two educators; Erica Fanning and Kayti Marr were invited to attend our regional Celebration of Teaching and Learning. This event, hosted by Questar III and UAlbany was a fun way to celebrate dedicated educators and to encourage more students to consider a career in education. At this event, students who are interested in pursuing a career in education had the opportunity to hear from a variety of speakers in the field of education such as President Havidán Rodríguez of the University at Albany, Dr. Virginia Goatley, UAlbany Dean of Education, Dr Gladys Cruz, District Superintendent, and others. Roundtable Discussions where students from the participating schools heard directly from educators was a part of the event as well.
