On Tuesday, October 7, voters in the Coxsackie-Athens Central School District approved proposition A and voted down proposition B in a Capital Project referendum. Voters approved Proposition A: 529 (yes) to 391 (no), and voted down Proposition B: 384 (yes) to 531 (no).
The referendum will invest $17.7 million into safety and security, classroom upgrades and critical building needs. To learn about the full scope of the project, click here.
“Thank you to the community members who came out to vote for this capital project. This work will not only enhance our school safety, it will address critical building deficiencies across the District,” Superintendent Randall Squier said.
In the coming months, architects will prepare plans for the project which will be submitted to the State Education Department for approval. We will keep the community updated on progress as it occurs.
