The Coxsackie-Athens Board of Education is pleased to welcome Dr. Daniel Kalbfliesh as our new Superintendent of Schools, effective July 1, 2026. Dr. Kalbfliesh brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our district. We are excited to work together to bring opportunities to our students and families. There are no resources more valuable to our community and nation than our children. We look forward to partnering with Dr. Kalbfliesh to support our students as they strive to achieve their highest academic and personal success.

Dr. Kalbfliesh brings extensive leadership experience and a strong record of improving school systems, strengthening instructional programs, and ensuring sound fiscal management. He currently serves as Superintendent of the Green Island Union Free School District, where he has led significant district improvements focused on strengthening organizational and instructional systems while expanding opportunities for students. Prior to serving as Superintendent, he held several key administrative roles including Assistant Superintendent, Director of Special Education, and Principal. In these roles, he worked closely with educators and support staff to strengthen instructional practices, develop effective student support systems, and improve outcomes for diverse learners.

Dr. Kalbfliesh stated, "I am honored to join the Coxsackie-Athens Central School District and grateful for the opportunity to serve this community. I look forward to meeting everyone, learning more about our schools and building meaningful relationships."

The board thanks our stakeholders for their valuable input during the search process. Your input helped guide our process and will continue to be used to better our operations. The board will guide the transition from our interim superintendent to Dr. Kalbfliesh's start date.
