On Tuesday, May 19, residents of the Coxsackie-Athens Central School District supported a $38.7 million budget for the 2026-27 school year by a vote of 503 (yes) to 273 (no).
The budget of $38,700,00 calls for an increase of 2.65% from the 2025-26 school year and a tax levy increase of 2.80%, which is within the state’s allowable tax cap.
“Thank you to the CACSD residents who voted on the 2026-27 school budget. Our staff and Board of Education worked hard on developing a budget that is carefully engineered to balance immediate educational needs with long-term financial reality. We are grateful for your constant support for our children.” Interim Superintendent Dr. Darfler-Sweeney.
Residents also elected Jamie Dorr, Samuel Mozzillo and Cesar Echavarria to the Board of Education. Candidate vote counts are below, in the order they appeared on the ballot:
