Several Coxsackie-Athens students showcased months of hard work, dedication, and leadership at this year's Greene County Youth Fair, earning top honors across a variety of competitions.
From livestock showmanship and creative arts to baking, gardening, and volunteer service, Riverhawk students demonstrated the skills, responsibility, and commitment that make the fair such a meaningful experience. Whether it was their first time competing or they were seasoned participants, each student represented the community with pride.
Among this year's accomplishments:
Emma Lambert earned fourth place in her first time showing a dairy cow, along with Blue Ribbons for flowers and baking.
Addison Ross received a State Pick in Creative Writing, a Blue Ribbon for pressed flowers, Best of Show for Rabbit, fifth place in Master Showmanship, and completed more than 25 volunteer hours.
Lydia Jo Herdman had an outstanding fair season, earning Best of Show for both Dairy Goat and Dairy Cow, third place in Master Showmanship, first place in Swine Herdsmanship, first place in Swine Decorations, and contributing more than 25 volunteer hours.
Pierce Seaburg placed second in his Meat Goat class and volunteered more than 30 hours throughout the fair.
Parker Seaburg showed a Meat Goat, helped install the fair's water system, and dedicated more than 50 volunteer hours before, during, and after the fair.
Sam Anderson participated in his first Meat Goat show and contributed more than 12 volunteer hours.
Robert Pautz earned Best of Show in Swine, a State Pick in Arts, a Blue Ribbon for vegetables, was named the 2026 Master Showman, and took first place in both Swine Herdsmanship and Swine Decorations.
These accomplishments reflect countless hours of preparation, perseverance, and a willingness to learn. Beyond the ribbons and awards, the Greene County Youth Fair provides students with valuable opportunities to build confidence, develop leadership skills, give back through volunteer service, and create lasting friendships.
