Dr. Daniel Kalbfliesh has settled into his new role as the Superintendent of Schools for the Coxsackie-Athens Central School District. While Dr. Kalbfliesh’s official start date was July 1, 2026, he was able to spend some time before then getting to know the district, meeting staff, students and community members.
Before stepping into this position, Dr. Kalbfliesh attended a number of end of year events across the district, including Edward J. Arthur Elementary School's Moving Up Ceremony. These visits gave him a chance to connect with students, families, and get a sense for what makes the Coxsackie-Athens community so special. “I had the honor of speaking at our middle school moving up ceremony and watched with pride as our middle schoolers were honored for all their achievements, a milestone that marks the beginning of a new chapter in their education,” explained Dr. Daniel Kalbfliesh. “And I shared in the joy of our EJA Moving Up ceremony, where our youngest learners took their first big step forward, surrounded by proud families and dedicated teachers.”
Before joining Coxsackie-Athens, Dr. Kalbfliesh served as superintendent of the Green Island Union Free School District. He also brings experience as an assistant superintendent, director of special education, and principal, giving him a strong background in educational leadership.
