Yesterday, Coxsackie Elementary officially celebrated the grand opening of its brand new playground!
With fresh mulch, new playground equipment and plenty of excited students ready to play, the new playground was officially opened during a ribbon cutting ceremony at Coxsackie Elementary.
The celebration was led by Coxsackie Elementary Principal Nicole Biette, who welcomed our students and the community to this new space. Our new Superintendent, Dr. Daniel Kalbfliesh also shared a few opening remarks, followed by several remarks from our CE students who shared their excitement about the new playground.
A group of CE students helped cut the ribbon, officially opening the playground for the first time. As soon as the ribbon was cut, the students ran onto the playground and got right to work testing out all the new equipment.
The excitement was easy to see as students explored the new space, climbed, played and enjoyed having a brand new place to spend time with their friends.
We are excited to see the new playground become a place where our students can play, make memories and, most importantly, have fun being kids.
This project was made possible through our district's capital project and the support of our community and voters. We are grateful for the investment in our schools and, most importantly, in our students.
At Coxsackie-Athens, we are dedicated to making the school experience the best it can be for all of our students. We want to create schools where students feel welcome, have opportunities to learn and grow, and look forward to coming to school every day. This new playground is another step toward creating that kind of experience for our students.
