Schools across the nation are have been experiencing smaller pools of candidates for full time teacher positions and C-A is no exception. The article highlights some actions schools are taking to keep the pipeline of candidates full.
This challenge pre-dates the pandemic which has exacerbated the shortages. College teacher prep programs are seeing significant declines in students and some colleges are closing down these programs.
At C-A we have HS students helping in elementary classrooms in the hopes that this will spark an interest to become a teacher.
