Mikayla (Ash) Riley is our 10th grade Rotary Student of the Month! She is a wonderful student who works hard in all classes. Ash is very passionate about music and is always striving to learn new things to become a better singer and musician. Ash is always polite and genuinely a pleasure to have in class as well as work with. Congratulations!!

The 7th grade teachers are proud to nominate Makayla Scalera as the Rotary Student of the Month. While Makayla is a strong reader and writer, her skills extend beyond the classroom. She was a member of the Cheer Squad during the Winter season, helping to spread school spirit during both boys and girls basketball games. Makayla maintains a positive attitude and can often be found with a smile on her face, even when completing her assignments. Makayla, along with her parents, Mr. Pray and Mr. Elliott enjoyed a luncheon at Pegasus on Wednesday, April 9th. Congratulations, Makayla!

High School students from Ms. Tadj's Parenting and Child Development class worked closely with Ms. Roberg's 3rd grade students to make board games! Amongst the laughter and lollipops, there was a great deal of collaboration, problem solving, and decision making. Both the HS and elementary students enjoyed the time spent together and some special connections were formed.

Thank you to Essendant and Adam Irwin for partnering with Coxsackie-Athens CSD by donating food and backpacks for our Backpack Program! Their kindness and support make a real difference in the lives of our students and families. We are grateful for Essendant’s commitment to our school community.
At the moment, 39 families and 78 students are supported by the Backpack Program, which consists of staff filling backpacks with weekend meals. If anyone would like to donate to our Backpack Program, please contact Lorna Collins at the high school at [email protected]
The Program is always in need of financial resources to purchase food from the Regional Food Bank. Additionally, the Program could use snack items, gift cards to Walmart, Market 32, etc., shelving, and a cooler / freezer option. Donations can also go to the Food Bank as long as they are indicated as going to the Coxsackie-Athens High School Food Pantry Program.
