GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD PATROON CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS!!
Last night the Riverhawks Girls Track & Field team clinched another Patroon Conference title, this time in dominant fashion with a score of 177 points, a full 80 points higher than the next closest team. The girls finished first in 10 of the 17 events including all three relays. New records were set by Emma Roberg in the 3000m, Claire Hubert in the steeplechase and Mackenzie Wolbert in discus.
The boys finished fourth at the meet, landing them the third place finish in the league. Both teams have a strong shot at winning the Sectional Championship meet, which will be held at Coxsackie-Athens next Tuesday at 4:15.

Third graders at EJA planted their "Three Sisters" garden. At the end of March the children planted corn seeds and put them under grow lights. They carefully watched them germinate, watering them when necessary. This week they took their corn plants out to their garden to be planted. Using a hexagon pattern, the children planted corn at each of the points and in the middle of the hexagon. They then lifted up the hexagon and put their bean seeds where the flat sides had been. Their squash seeds were planted between the bean seeds and the corn plants. In the fall, children will harvest the garden.

Avery is described as smart, respectful, helpful, kind and most of all funny. She is never shy about asking questions when it comes to completing work in class and just questions in general. All of her teachers agree that she is very deserving of Rotary Student of the Month!

Elliot Mercer-Whipple, an eighth-grade standout, has been recognized as the Rotary Student of the Month. Her commitment to academic excellence is evident in her outstanding grades and dedication to her studies. Elliot's curiosity and passion for learning not only shine in the classroom but also extend to her involvement in extracurricular activities, where she consistently demonstrates leadership and teamwork. Her remarkable achievements make her a role model for her peers and a source of pride for her school community.

Emma is truly an outstanding student, always willing to participate, and consistently provides excellent insights during our class discussions. Her positive attitude and contributions greatly enhance our learning environment. Her teachers are grateful for the impact she makes in all of our classrooms.

We're thrilled to announce Richard Svara as our 10th-grade Student of the Month. With his eager class participation, positive attitude, and great sense of humor, he's truly made his mark. From day one, Richard has stood out for his enthusiasm and insightful contributions, enriching our classroom discussions and setting a positive example for his peers.
But what sets him apart is his engaging personality, which shines through in every interaction. He treats everyone with kindness and respect, fostering a sense of camaraderie among his peers and earning the admiration of teachers and staff alike.
Richard’s work on his written assignments continue to show as well. Although his answers can sometimes be a bit too brief, and his penmanship a little hard to read, he works hard to complete all of the assignments to the best of his ability. As he continues his high school education, I’m confident that Richard will continue to use his impressive and growing strengths while working to improve upon skills which will make him an even better student. That is, after all, what we are all here for… to keep improving, to keep striving, and to keep asking insightful questions and seeking the answers.
Congratulations, Richard, on this well-deserved recognition. Your achievements reflect your hard work, dedication, and remarkable character. Keep shining bright—we're proud of you!
