Ava is a new sixth-grader who has quickly become a favorite among her classmates and teachers. Ava brings great energy to her classes and consistently impresses with her academic ability.. Not only is she bright and hardworking, she’s also genuinely funny. Ava’s positive spirit and kindness make her an awesome addition to our school community, and she’s already making a big difference! ELA/Reading- Ava is a ray of sunshine here at CA! Her bright and bubbly personality is contagious and always makes class enjoyable. Ava goes above and beyond in everything she does! Math- Positive, Energetic, and Hardworking! Ava works well with her classmates and demonstrates an excellent work ethic. She is an excellent math student and enjoys the challenges of the accelerated program. Social Studies- Serious and dedicated - hardworking and cooperative, thoughtful and helpful, humorous and kind, insightful and curious - Ava has all the attributes of a positive member of our Riverhawks family. It has been a pleasure to have Ava as part of our 6th grade community of learners. We welcome her back to C-A again - and have high expectations for her future work here together. Science - Ava approaches every assignment with enthusiasm and a bright smile. She’s an incredibly supportive lab partner, always willing to lend a hand, and her dedication shows—she has aced every assessment we’ve had so far. I’m excited to see just how far Ava’s curiosity and hard work will take her in Science this year!

Our high school (11th grade) student of the month is Cameron Daoust. Cameron is a thoughtful student, both in her personality and her classwork. Cameron is always looking to improve, especially when given feedback on assignments, and understands the value of working through multiple drafts of work to achieve a stronger outcome. Cameron is a quiet leader, choosing to lead through example, and as such is also a fantastic example of the success C-A students have when they push themselves to truly take charge of their education. Congratulations to Cameron and her family!

Ms. Seekamp's 6th Grade Scientists observed the various qualities of different soil types to help answer the question, "How does soil type affect the rate at which water passes through it?" After observing qualities like color, texture and particle size, the 6th graders conducted an experiment in which 100 mL of water was poured through 25 cm3 of three different soil types (sandy, clay & loamy soil). Our scientists recorded the number of seconds it took for water to pass through each soil type, analyzed their data and came to the conclusion that particle size and texture have a pretty big impact on how water passes through soil. #CA_RightHereRightNow
