GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD PATROON CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS!! Last night the Riverhawks Girls Track & Field team clinched another Patroon Conference title, this time in dominant fashion with a score of 177 points, a full 80 points higher than the next closest team. The girls finished first in 10 of the 17 events including all three relays. New records were set by Emma Roberg in the 3000m, Claire Hubert in the steeplechase and Mackenzie Wolbert in discus. The boys finished fourth at the meet, landing them the third place finish in the league. Third graders at EJA planted their "Three Sisters" garden. At the end of March the children planted corn seeds and put them under grow lights. They carefully watched them germinate, watering them when necessary. This week they took their corn plants out to their garden to be planted. Using a hexagon pattern, the children planted corn at each of the points and in the middle of the hexagon. They then lifted up the hexagon and put their bean seeds where the flat sides had been. Their squash seeds were planted between the bean seeds and the corn plants. In the fall, children will harvest the garden.
